Our volunteers are an essential part of Hospice Mid Canterbury.  They are the heart of our organisation and without them we could not provide the service we do.  Our Hospice volunteers are highly valued and are dedicated to supporting our clients and families.

Our volunteers provide:

  • Transportation
  • Retail
  • Companionship and outings
  • Assisting with shopping
  • Biography

We are always on the lookout for compassionate, reliable, fun people who would love to truly make a difference in their community via Hospice volunteering.  All volunteers are supported by our volunteer coordinator.  For further information on how to become a volunteer you can speak with a member of the hospice team or email

A bequest is a gift of money or property in a Will left to a specific person or organisation.  This enables the gifting of property, cash or other assets from your estate to a designated organisation such as Hospice Mid Canterbury.
If you choose to make a bequest to Hospice Mid Canterbury you will be assured that you will be continuing to provide support for people in your community dealing with life limiting illness and end-of-life and that your financial contribution will be well managed.  By leaving a bequest you are not impacting upon your current financial situation, but will make a real difference to those with future needs.
If you wish to make a bequest, contact your solicitor, or person who handles your legal affairs, and they will create a will for you or alter your existing will.
We would be very grateful if you would let us know that you have left a bequest to Hospice Mid Canterbury. This way we can not only thank you but we can ensure that you receive our newsletters and are kept updated.  Please be assured that your bequest will be kept strictly confidential unless you request otherwise.

Heartfelt thanks for thinking of us and future generations through a gift in your will.
